Why work with us?
What makes Beaton Path Communications different?
Experience, and lots of it.
Founder Lindsay Beaton invested 15+ years covering the pet food industry as the editor of the industry’s top business-to-business publication and media presence. In those years she learned everything she could about how the industry operates, from kibble extrusion to raw pet food, from ingredient sourcing to R&D, from supply chain to retail sales, and everything in between. She’s interviewed hundreds of industry experts over the years, covering every trend and reaching out to every corner in order to provide the best information possible to those making business decisions and growing the pet food space.
How does this translate to helping a company build its brand and business?
When we say Lindsay has interacted with every part of the industry, we mean it. Among those many conversations have been dozens of new pet food and supplier companies launched in the last 15 years, and Lindsay took the opportunity to learn all she could about the trials and tribulations of launching a brand in a market already filled to the brim.

Who is behind
Beaton Path Communications?
Before founding Beaton Path Communications in September 2026, Lindsay Beaton spent 16 years with WATT Global Media, beginning with agriculture and quickly landing on covering the pet food industry. She was the editor of Petfood Industry magazine, a monthly print and digital publication focusing on the interests of global pet food and pet treat manufacturing professionals. She was also the founder, producer, and host of a semi-monthly industry-focused podcast, “Trending: Pet Food,” where she dedicated 115 episodes to discussing with industry experts the latest trends in pet food, including various market segments, pet nutrition, consumer impact, and other hot topics.
Lindsay’s passion for the pet industry led her to formalize and grow the Student Program as part of WATT Global Media’s annual Petfood Forum conference and tradeshow, where she interacted with the future of the industry: undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students working towards degrees in companion animal nutrition and related fields. She was lucky enough to usher two “generations” of students through the program, watching as those she’d worked with for years entered academia as professors who then brought their own students to participate.
Lindsay has been a guest pet food expert on the History Channel show “The Food that Built America,” has been a judge for several pet industry-related pitch competitions, and has spoken at multiple industry conferences on industry trends.
Lindsay received her Master's degree in Writing and Publishing from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She has 20+ years in the business-to-business publishing world, covering the produce, animal agriculture, and pet industries.
